shine, light up

两者都有“发光”“照亮”的意思。它们的区别在于:

1.shine是不及物动词,指太阳等能发亮的主体自身发光; 而light up则是及物动词,意思是“照亮…”。例如:

The sun shines bright in my old Kentucky home.

明媚的阳光照耀着我古老的肯塔基故 乡。

All the streets were lit up with electricity.

所有街道上灯火通明。

2.shine和light up都可用于比喻,指“眼睛亮”,但前者强调状态,后者强调由不亮到亮的变化。例如:
