somewhere, anywhere

这两个副词的含义接近,但用法不同。它们的区别是：

1.somewhere只能用于肯定结构, anywhere一般用于疑问句或否定句,偶尔也可用于肯定句。例如:

I went somewhere in the neighbourhood.

我在附近走了走。

Did you go anywhere in the neighbourhood.

你到附近什么地方去过吗?

I didn't go anywhere in the neighbourhood.

我没有到附近什么地方去过。

2.由这两个词构成的短语也有这样的区别:如get somewhere表示“略有进展”,用于肯定句; 而anywhere则用于否定句和疑问句, not get anywhere表示“没有进展”。例如:

Now, at last we know the murder weapon; now we're getting somewhere.现在我们终于知道谋杀的武器,总算有点进展。

You'll never get anywhere with that attitude.你持那种态度将毫无进展。

3.anywhere用于肯定句时,与somewhere在意思上有所区别,不能互换。例如:

I lost my key somewhere near here.我的钥匙是在这附近丢的。

本句的意思是在附近某一处地方丢的,但说不出准确的位置,如换成anywhere则表示“随便什么地方”,这显然在逻辑上不通,故不能换用。
