词源词缀法
来自拉丁语duodecim，十二，duo，二，decim，十。单词twelve（十二）以two（二）开头，同样，dozen也以“二”开头。它来自拉丁语duodecim，其中duo表“二”，decim表“十”。简单地说，dozen的do为词根“二”，-zen是“十”的残余。同根词如double（两倍的），其中ble表“翻折”。中文量词“打”是其音译。
