词源词根法
古希腊的政体是城邦制度。“城邦”源于希腊文polis，本意是city（城市），因为是一城一国，故译为“城邦”。公元前8世纪至公元前6世纪，古代希腊城邦制度开始形成。在氏族社会组织逐渐解体的基础上，希腊各地相继形成了200多个城邦。古代希腊城邦一般是以一座城市为中心、连带周边乡村地区而形成的独立国家，以小国寡民为基本特征。它们的国土面积一般只有百余平方公里、人口数万，最大的城邦8000多平方公里国土、数十万人口。=英语单词political来自拉丁语politicus，后者来自希腊语politikos，字面意思是“与polites（citizen，市民）有关的”，而polites来自polis（城市，城邦）。因此political（政治的）原意就是“与市民、城邦事务相关的”。与它同源的单词politic则表示政治活动所需要的性格特征，如精明、审慎、讲究策略。=political[pə'lɪtɪk(ə)l]adj.政治的，党派的=politic['pɒlɪtɪk]adj.精明的，有策略的，审慎的
