二者的意思不同,前者的意思是“不知道干什么”,后者的意思是“凌乱”。例如:

at the end, in the end

这两个短语都可表示“在最后”意思。它们的区别在于:

1.at the end多用于时间(如星期、年月、学期、季节等)或地点; 而in the end多用于某件事情,即“最后,终于,到头来”。例如:

2.in the end可单独使用,而at the end通常须接of短语。

bring an end to, come to an end

两组短语的意思不同:前者的意思是“使之到头”,后者的意思是“濒于结束”。例如:

The meeting came to an end late in the afternoon.会议开到傍晚才结束。
